Charles Edmon Tittle

Charles Edmon Tittle was born September 4, 1937, to Harvey Washington Tittle and Pernie Comeens Tittle. He was preceded in death by both parents and a son, Trenton Neal Tittle. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Jordan Kendrick Tittle, his daughter, Nina Tittle Jackson, step-sons Stephen Ray Kendrick (Gwen), David Allen Kendrick (Jane), step-daughter, Dana Kendrick Robbins (Jamie), grandchildren Amy Miller Munoz, Derrick Jackson (Krizten), Kandace Kendrick Luck (Chris), Jordan Robbins (Amanda), Kameron Kendrick, Kara Robbins Boorsma (Matt), Keaton Kendrick (Lindsay), Trey Robbins, Megan Robbins Pitts (Jason), Tracy Vinzant James (Tarleton), Abbey Vinzant, great grandchildren Maya Munoz, Antonio Munoz, Parker Jackson, Kaylee Luck, Cooper Luck, Adaline Robbins, Jace Robbins, Carsyn Boorsma, Bryson Boorsma, Audrey Boorsma, Alaya Robbins, Brooklyn Robbins, Brody Robbins, Colin Pitts, a brother Wayne Tittle, nieces Sonya Tittle, Stephanie Tittle, Stacy Tittle and a host of cousins and their children.

Charles birthplace and childhood home was Haleyville, Alabama where he graduated from Haleyville High School. He began his 40-year career with Alabama Power in Haleyville in the crew and as he moved up the ranks, he was transferred many times. He worked for Alabama Power at Tuscaloosa, Winfield, Oneonta, Jasper, Gardendale, back to Jasper, Birmingham General Office and ended his career at the Training Center in Shelby County.

He loved working for Alabama Power and always felt that the company was good to him. He had many opportunities to be involved in innovative procedures which improved service to their customers. He worked at projects such as vibration studies, bare-hand work which started at Georgia Power where he learned the work and came back to teach the procedure to employees in Alabama. Whenever Charles spoke of his career, he always referred to learning from others and in turn teaching younger employees. He retired after 40 years of a fulfilling career.

Charles was always involved in his community and churches wherever he lived. He was active in Jay Cees and was president while living in Winfield. One of the greatest joys and most challenging opportunities came as a founding member of Riverchase Baptist Church in 1985. He loved his church which he served as a deacon, Sunday School Director, a choir member, Pastor Search Committee and many other committees and places of service. He loved his family, church family and friends helping others wherever he could.
