Charles K. Moss, 87 of Birmingham, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015. Charles was a graduate of Ensley High School where he was active in band and played baseball. He also served in the U.S. Army Occupational Forces in Japan. Mr. Moss retired after a 41 year career at Dixie Type & Supply where he was VP and Sales Manager. He was an avid golfer - past member of Heatherwood Golf Club and Altadena Golf Club, and new member of Riverchase Country Club. He was an active member of Lakeside Baptist Church, and the Chapel Sunday School Class. Mr. Moss was an Alabama football fan, and proud of the fact that his son and grandson had National Championship rings.
Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be dearly missed. He was a fine Christian man of integrity and humility. God has called home one of his best.
Mr. Moss is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Mary Moss; brother, Russell Moss; sister, Jacquelin Moss; and by his first wife, Jewell Moss. He is survived by his wife, Lu M. Moss; son, Stan Moss (Janice); Lu’s children, Charles Edward Wilson (Kathy) and Carole Lee Wilson; grandsons, Stan C. Moss (Lisa) and Michael Moss (Lisa); Lu’s grandson, David Wilson; great grandchildren, Tristan Moss, William Moss, Ben Moss and Halle Moss; and nieces, Yolanda Adcock, Vickie Stech and Johanna Kantor (Mike).
The celebration of Charles’ life will be at 11am on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Lakeside Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lakeside Baptist Church.
