After a 7 year battle with cancer, Brad Jacob Booth died at his home on November 29th surrounded by his family. He was 33 years old residing in Hoover, AL with his loving and compassionate wife, Stacey Wilson Booth, daughter, Nola Bradley Booth (4), and Grey Wilson Booth (2). He was born in Baton Rouge, LA on March 18, 1984 as the youngest of three sons to parents Calvin and Denise (Blouin) Booth. Breland Booth (Beth) and Blake Booth (Jamie) are his surviving brothers with whom he maintained a deep and faithful bond throughout his life, along with his parents. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Geneva Booth and Reinanne Blouin. He began his relationship with Jesus Christ with a profession of faith and baptism in 1990 at Amite Baptist Church in Denham Springs, LA. He participated with excellence in the Live Oak Sports Association and the Live Oak School system. He went on to graduate from Parkview Baptist School in 2002 where he was inducted into the PBS Alumni Hall of Fame for Excellence in Living an Abundant Life in 2014. Many high honors in athletics were awarded to Brad during this period including MVP of the 2001 PBS Football State Championship. After attending the U.S. Air Force Academy for one year, he went on to graduate from Samford University in Birmingham, AL in 2006. He was the starting safety for the Samford Bulldog football team and led in discipling students as Project Director with the evangelical organization Campus Outreach.
He continued his scholarly pursuits at Samford and graduated in 2009 from Cumberland School of Law along with an MBA from the School of Business. Brad developed as a driven litigator for Carr Allison Law Firm in Birmingham, AL with whim he had full support through his battle with cancer, as he was diagnosed in his second year as an associate. Brad’s life achieved true greatness as his heart went out to other cancer patients. With his heart to give back and share the love of Christ, he joined arms with the patient housing non-profit organization Red Mountain Grace where he served as a board member and speaker until his cancer returned. He and his family were members of Christ Community Church in Helena, AL until he went to be with Christ.
The celebration of Brad’s life will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Evangel Presbyterian Church, with visitation beginning at 11:30am.
