Beverly Woods Mason (86) went home to be with The Lord on the morning of Thursday April 8th, 2021. Beverly was originally from Pennsylvania, the eldest of three children, born to Merrell Donald Woods and Mildred Ruth Woods. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Donald Wayne Woods. She is survived by her youngest brother Barry Lee Woods.
Beverly was a devoted wife to her late husband, Clark Allen Mason, and the pair’s heavenly reunion has certainly been long-awaited. Their loving marriage provided them a son, Allen Clark Mason, and a daughter, Melanie Mason Vandiver. Allen, along with his wife Mia, reside in Birmingham, Alabama. Beverly adored her son and daughter-in-law and she shared in their affinity for a good laugh and a good book.
Her daughter, Melanie, and son-in-law, Clay, are residents of Huntsville, Alabama. Their union saw Beverly become a grandmother to Jason Allen Vandiver and Megan Vandiver Hopper, both of whom reside with their families in Huntsville. Jason and his wife, Kathy, were honored to provide Beverly with her great-granddaughters Riley Clark Vandiver and Avery Elise Vandiver. Beverly’s granddaughter Megan and her husband, Brian, have been blessed with her great-grandson Charles Jaxson “Jax” Hopper.
Beverly was a wonderful matriarch to three generations of loved ones. She was also a beloved aunt to numerous nieces, nephews and their extended families. In addition to all that she meant to her family, she was professionally accomplished and gave freely of her time to her church. She wielded a mighty pen when it came to crossword puzzles and she shared her mastery of mahjong with anyone willing to learn. She was small in stature, but with a big heart and an even bigger smile. She will be truly missed.
