She was born on October 26, 1929 in Selma, Alabama to John Henry and Imogene Richardson Brown. Betty was a loving wife to her husband of 65 years, a devoted mother to her three children, and gloating grandmother. She also loved spending time with her close friends, whether it was playing golf, playing bridge, or going on trips to the beach. She enjoyed volunteering at Baptist Montclair Hospital for many years and she was a long time member of Independent Presbyterian Church. Betty was also an animal lover and she had a fondness for cats. All who knew and loved her will miss her terribly.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Ernest E. Glass, Jr.; and her parents, John Henry Brown and Imogene Richardson Brown.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Shannon (Jeff) Dickey, Donna (Ric) Green, and David Glass; along with two grandchildren, Lauren Dickey of Denver, CO; and Kristen Dickey of Los Angeles, CA.
The family would like to express its sincere thanks to Sedra Thompson, Miriam Mitchell, Home Instead Senior Care, and Expect Care Hospice for all the love and attention given to Betty.
A private graveside service will be held at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, Alabama. Rev. Jonathan Yarboro officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Betty’s memory to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, Alzheimers of Central Alabama, or a favorite charity of choice.
