Ben A. Tamburello, “Buster” passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at the age of 79. A lifelong resident of Birmingham, Alabama, he was born on March 22, 1941, in Ensley, to the late Jake and Monnie Lou Tamburello. After attending Ensley High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Affectionately known as “Big Daddy” for his strong physical stature, “one of a kind” personality, and his gift of generosity, Ben A. Tamburello, “Buster” was loved by all. He enjoyed a successful career as an agent with State Farm Insurance for over 30 years. Ben was devoted to the holy rosary and a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Symbolic of his strength, he was influential in the lives of so many and a steady resource for his family and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Jake and Monnie Lou Tamburello and his son, Jake T. Tamburello.
Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Mary Michele Tamburello Holden; Ann Tamburello Restine; and Lori Elizabeth Tamburello; his son, Ben A. Tamburello, Jr.; nine grandchildren, John Michael Giambrone; Ashley Michele Restine; Bonnie Restine Heath; Lizz Taylor; Ben A. Tamburello III; Anna Grace Tamburello; Julia Elizabeth Tamburello; Bethany Edgeworth; Barrett Edgeworth; Mathew Holden; and Jessica Holden; and six great-grandchildren, Olivia Mae Heath; Isla Reese Haney; Cole Edgeworth; Laura Beth Edgeworth; Leah Edgeworth; and Sawyer Holden. He is also survived by two brothers, John Tamburello and Vincent Tamburello; and three sisters, Sherry Ciza; Mary Antoinette Monte; and Mary Barbara Tamburello.
