Barbara was born on November 7, 1931 to Aubrey and Cora Wilson in Tallassee, Alabama. She was married to the love of her life, Ray Bailey, for 55 years. She was a long-time resident of Hoover and member of Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Barbara was a proud supporter of the University of Alabama and a Tide Pride member. She spent many years travelling and seeing the world with her husband.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Ray; one daughter, Sonia Sample; and a son, David Bailey. Survivors include Barbara's sister, Wayne Dill; daughter, Pam Britnell (Tim); grandchildren, Shannon Sanders (Shane), Chelsea Williams, Chad Brantley (Jordan), McKenzie Wayman (Jamy), Devan Bailey, and Rebekah Bailey; along with numerous great-grandchildren and extended family.
Barbara's family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Burial will be at Croft-Acton Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama.
