WILKINS, ANNIE RUTH, born May 31, 1937, lost a long and brave battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. She was a loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to and after the 7 p.m. funeral service Thursday, November 4, 2010 in the chapel of Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010 at Vinemont First Baptist Church Cemetery. Ruth was retired from both Gulf Oil and BP Oil, and worked for years as a supervisor with Shop-a-Snack stores. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wilkins; sons, James Marvin and Samuel Lee Bean; and her parents, James and Bessie Livingston of Vinemont, Alabama. Survivors include Ruth's daughter, Gail Barrett of Birmingham; son, David Bean of Clearwater, Florida; grandsons, Jason, Tim, and Michael; granddaughters, Christina, Erin, and Gina; and great-grandchildren.
