Born September 24, 1921 in Clear Lake, Iowa to Earl and Anna (Peplow) Clark, she married Harry Rauch on January 1, 1943 in Seattle, Washington. He died November 3, 2010 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis (Jerry) Hoeft of Oro Valley, Arizona and Margaret (Verne) Herrman of Groveland; one granddaughter, Crystal Kilgus and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Luke Kilgus, all of Pekin.
Wanda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin and had been a former longtime member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church near San Jose. In her later years, Wanda’s spiritual needs were attended by Pastor Kurt Mews of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in East Peoria. Also, Bill Heren of Pekin gave Wanda devotions, and more recently, Trinity Lutheran Church’s new minister, Pastor Simeon Raddatz.
She had worked as Chief Deputy for the Tazewell County Circuit Clerk’s office for twenty-one years, retiring in 1987. She had also taught Student Adult Reading at the Y.W.C.A.
Wanda enjoyed square dancing, traveling and stories of her great-grandchildren.
Her graveside service will be on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Allens Grove Cemetery in rural San Jose. The Rev. Simeon Raddatz will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
