Born March 4, 1929 in New Florence, Missouri to Virgil P. and Mary I. (Brookshire) Clark, he married Loretta Mae Jouvenaux on December 5, 1963 in Pekin. She died January 26, 2015 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donnie Clark and Buell Clark and two sisters, Alta Jones and infant sister, Annabell.
Surviving are two sisters, Charlene (Cecil) Krigbaum and Lorene (Dale) Askey, both of Vandalia, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
Virgil had worked at American Distillery in Pekin for 20 years> He later worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for four years.
He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle. Virgil was extremely proud to be a part of Alcoholics Anonymous for more than 50 years.
Virgil was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
His graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2023 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Deacon Mark Wilder will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday morning at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & crematory in Pekin.
