Terry Dean Hayes

Born August 2, 1953 in Springfield, Illinois to William and Mabel (Dean) Hayes, he married Pamela “Pam” Kay Stearns on January 29, 1977 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Tyler Hayes of West Palm Beach, Florida and Jory (Jackie Brassard) Hayes of Chicago; one grand-dog, Brody; two brothers, Thomas (Deena) Hayes of Rochester, Illinois and Richard (Nickie) Hayes of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and one sister, Barbara (Brian) Hamrick of Rochester, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Terry worked for over four decades as a skilled union carpenter, belonging to the Carpenters Local 644.

He loved winters in Punta Gorda, Florida with Pam where he fished and traveled to the nearby Lake Okeechobee. Terry’s other passion was riding his Harley.

A celebration of Terry’s life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1232, 1232 Veterans Drive, Pekin, Illinois 61554. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
