He was born December 21, 1967 in Peoria to Jimmie W. Burks and Dora May (Stroud) Brown. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are one daughter, Brittany (Chris) Weathers; one granddaughter, Lailah Allison; one brother, Jason (Candi) Burks; two sisters, Shelia and Tressia (Tim) Kelly and many nieces and nephews.
He worked as a warehouseman and a professional mover for Mordue Moving & Storage in Peoria.
Terry was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed watching sports and was a diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. If he wasn’t out shooting his gun or bow, he was spending time with family.
Family was very important to Terry, he always looked forward to family gatherings, cookouts and camping trips. He loved spending time with his granddaughter. Terry never met a stranger and was referred to as a “big teddy bear”, for his big stature and kind loving heart.
His visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday September 18, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation. There will be no service.
