Born January 23, 1959 in Peoria to Delbert and Barbara Jean Ann (Barden) Bohm, she married Herman “Butch” Hafele, Jr. on October 6, 1989. He died in 2005. She also was preceded in death by her father and beloved mother; a niece, Jennifer Bohm and a sister-in-law, Linda Bohm.
Sherry is survived by her Beloved Jim Chambers of Peoria; her son, David (Sarah) Bohm of Pekin; six grandchildren, Breanna Garrison, Jennifer Bohm, Tatum Bohm, all of Pekin, Cody Clewell, Josh Clewell, both of Creve Coeur and Kaleb Otey of Pekin; six great-grandchildren and her siblings, Delbert Bohm, James Bohm, Mark Bohm, Pam Schoenbein, Jean Bohm, Rose Petty, all of Peoria, Lucille Werckle, of Delavan, Danny (LaDonna) Bohm of Virginia, Will Werckle of Las Vegas and Wesley Tripp of Peoria. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Sherry loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her passions also included playing bingo, fishing and taking pictures.
Her visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where a private funeral will follow. Guidelines regarding social distancing and the wearing of masks will be followed. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
