Born December 31, 1944 in Ottawa to Elton L. and Opal I. (Crabtree) Hemphill, she married Albert D. Hacker in June of 1966.
Surviving are one son, A. Darren (Pam) Hacker of Pekin; two daughters, Terisha (Greg) Hess and Ella M. Hacker, both of Pekin; three step-sons, Darrell Seaman, Nick Hacker and Steve Hacker, all of Washington; one step-daughter, Rhonda (Mark) Merritt of Union City, Tennessee; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dale Seaman; one grandson; one infant sister and one brother, Harold Hemphill.
A homemaker, Sharon had worked out of her home as a beautician and a seamstress for the several community organizations. She also served as a volunteer for Christian Civic Outreach.
Sharon enjoyed reading and paying it forward by doing for others. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends.
She was of the Baptist faith.
A gathering celebrating Sharon’s life will be from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Larry’s Driftwood located at 661 South Main Street in Creve Coeur.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice or to the family for an account established for her daughter, Ella.
