Born August 17, 1960 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Marshall and Elizabeth (O’Loughlin) Johnson, he married Stacy LaNette Tyler on June 18, 1993 in Hopedale. She died on December 23, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Kory McCain.
Surviving are one daughter, Patience (Ethan Hamilton) Johnson of South Pekin; one stepson, Tyler Penovich of Bartonville; three sisters, Marklyn (Tim) Randolph, Mimi (Ron) Garrison and Marsha Johnson, all of St. Louis, Missouri and his mother-in-law, Cherie Maile of Hopedale.
Scott was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served in the Gulf War and in Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. After the Air Force, he was in the Air National Guard of Missouri and later in Illinois.
He worked as an audio/visual aide for five years at Mehlville School District. He also worked as a plumber for AY McDonald and as a manager at Longhorn Steakhouse in Bloomington. His most recent jobs were at Sc2 and at Kouri's Pub in Pekin as a prep cook.
Scott was a man who would pride himself on his work and would often work odd jobs. He loved going on coffee dates with his daughter to Eli’s in Tremont and spending time with his five cats, Tip, Bella, Scrappy, Izzy and Snowball. He enjoyed cooking and watching Star Trek and train videos.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be an inurnment at Camp Butler National Cemetery on Friday, June 23rd, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to his daughter, Patience, to offset funeral expenses.
