Born April 23, 1927 in Cameron to Lyle and Beatrice (Bricker) Yocum, she married Eugene C. Taylor on August 12, 1945 in Dallas City. He died June 14, 1988 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Taylor; one brother, Marvin Yocum; one sister, Patricia Hall and her son-in-law, T. Michael Howard.
Surviving are one son, Kim (Sandra) Taylor of Punta Gorda, Florida; one daughter, Donna Howard of Manito; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Taylor of Lake Knolls; four grandchildren, Michael (Rhonda) Howard of Pekin, Cliff Howard of Manito, Julie (Tom) Taylor of Des Plaines and Christopher (Sharon) Taylor of Phoenix, Arizona; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Howard, Chase (Ali) Howard, Mikayla Howard, Hannah (Alex) Aleman; one great-great-granddaughter, Emmalie Rose Howard and one sister, Bonnie Harr of Stronghurst.
She was a 1945 graduate of Dallas City High School.
An artist, Rosalie enjoyed painting. Rosalie owned and operated the Country Bumpkin Decorative Arts Studio in Pekin with her daughter for 13 years, retiring in 1995. She also formerly enjoyed teaching others how to paint. She continued painting herself even up until the last few months. Rosalie also was an avid reader and did beautiful cross stitch.
She was a member of Normandale Reformed Church.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Normandale Reformed Church in Pekin. Pastor David Craig will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
