Born November 17, 1954 in Peoria to Francis Bernard and Nelda June (Yeck) McGuirk. Together for 38 years, he married the love of his life, Lori Cox, on August 13, 1993 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are six children, Jaymi McGuirk of Morton, Daniel (Brittany Redshaw) McGuirk of Peoria, Robert C. (Mica) McGuirk of Deer Creek, Kasey McGuirk of Creve Coeur, Cassandra (David) Wilson of Peoria and Kodie (Heather Clemetsen) McGuirk of Trivoli; 15 grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Myhr and Lynn Anderson, both of Colorado and his beloved pets, one dog, Claire, one cat, Chuck and one pig, Frank.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Bernard McGuirk; his mother, Nelda June Haikey; one sister, Nancy Williams and one half-brother, Frank McGuirk.
Bob was patriotic and had a deep love for his country. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served from 1972 to 1979.
He worked as an over the road truck driver for 33 years and was last employed with CPC Logistics in Iowa.
A kind, loving and generous man Bob loved his wife and children more than anything. He would help anyone who needed it without hesitation.
Bob loved animals and would try to bring home any he could. When he was not with his family or helping animals, he enjoyed spending his free time being outside and around his family. He enjoyed boating, camping, listening to rock and country music and riding his motorcycle.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no services at this time.
