Born August 30, 1951 in Peoria to Ernest and Regina (Gleason) Stolz, he married Seyda “Sisi” Gulenman on April 14, 1973 in Pekin. She died March 30, 2021 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer (Matthew) Barnum of Pekin and Sharon Murr of Marquette Heights; four grandchildren, Paige (Fred) Pehm of East Peoria; Torrie Murr of East Peoria, Jake Murr of Marquette Heights and Alison Barnum of Pekin; one great-granddaughter, Rosalie Domnick of East Peoria and two brothers Mike (Kathy) Stolz of Washington and Jim Stolz of Groveland.
Dick was a veteran of the United Stated Army.
He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 2007.
Dick enjoyed fishing, painting and hunting. He also liked building model cars and collecting coins. He especially loved spending time with his family.
His graveside service will be at noon Monday, November 21, 2022 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and Sangamon County Interveterans Detail. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
