Maxine Rosalie Walton

Born June 15, 1933 in Virginia, Illinois to Clifford and Rosa (Mclin) Miller, she married Marion G. “Walt” Walton on October 8, 1954 in Virginia. He died November 30, 1994 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert W. Miller and Charles L. Miller.

Surviving are one son, Brian (Cheryl) Walton of Waynesville, North Carolina; one daughter, Karen F. Walton of Pekin; two grandchildren, Matthew Walton of North Pekin and Stephanie Walton of Urbana; two great-grandchildren, Adrianna Walton and Amillion Anderson and one brother, Milton Miller of Canton.

Maxine worked as the manager of Decorators Grocery in Pekin for more than 20 years before retiring.

She had the gift of making beautiful wedding cakes for many years and was crazy about her grandchildren. She also loved her family pets. She enjoyed trips to North Carolina and also time spent with her friends at T.O.P.S.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin and liked helping to assemble the Messenger newsletter each month.

Her graveside service will be held at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19. 2022. Cremation has been accorded.
