Born November 10, 1922 in Pekin to Peter and Rosina (Wehren) Reh, she married Walter E. Berger on July 4, 1941 in Pekin. He died on March 26, 1997 in Pekin. Also preceding her in death are her parents; one daughter, Colleen Aberle on October 23, 2011 in Peoria; two grandsons; two granddaughters; one brother and one sister.
Surviving are one son, Jack (Skip) Berger of Tremont; five granddaughters, Tonya Aberle of Pekin, Tiffany (Dwight Krisher) Aberle of Peoria, Shannon (David Holley) Aberle of Banner, Beth (Scott) LaRue of Grand Haven, Michigan, Jacque (Matt) Koch of Tremont; one grandson, Clyde Allen Aberle of Peoria and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Maxine had been a member of the Second Reformed Church in Pekin.
She had been a beautician for 46 years in Pekin, retiring in 2011.
Maxine enjoyed sewing, cooking, making candy for the church, going out to eat, playing cards, shopping, gardening and taking care of her roses and traveling to see family in Idaho and friends in Arizona.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Tim Livengood will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
