Born April 30, 1935 in Glenville, Pennsylvania to Charles and Daisy Missouri Elizabeth (Frank) Whipperman, she married Earl Bollinger on December 24, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Darlene (Dennis) Murphy of Kewanee and Dorothy (Thomas) Baker of Pekin; three sons, Larry (Sue Pollard) Bollinger of Mackinaw, Melvin Bollinger and Robert (Belinda) Bollinger, both of Pekin; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Marian Boyer and Marlene Kroft, both of Pennsylvania and Martha (Barney) Thome of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary was of the Lutheran faith.
She had worked for Morton Terrace for many years. She also had worked for Sommers Canning in Pennsylvania and for Best Inns.
Mary enjoyed playing cards, taking walks, and loved to cook and cook out. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Michael McLeod will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
