Born May 30, 1934 in Peoria to David and Cecila (Bamber) Abbey, she married Homer Brubaker on Sept. 6, 1952 in Peoria. He died January 8, 2013 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, and one granddaughter.
Surviving are two sons, Gregory (Cindy) Brubaker of Arizona and Bradley Brubaker of Peoria; one daughter, Jayme Purtle of Peoria; her sister, Nannette Abbey (Roger) Benecke; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services or visitation. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is assisting family with arrangements.
