He was born November 1, 1929 in Peoria to James P. and Margaret (Lichtenberger) Cassidy. His parents, two sisters, five brothers and one grandchild preceded him in death.
Surviving are four sons, Lloyd E. (Vicki) Cassidy Jr., William P. (Candi) Cassidy and Dennis C. (Ellie) Cassidy, all of North Pekin and John L. Cassidy of Galesburg; four daughters, Debbie J. (Junior) Busby of Farmington, Sally A. (David) Sonderman of North Pekin, Penny S. Sizemore and Betty J. (Brian) Birmingham, both of Pekin; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, David (Nadine) Spence of Peoria; and one sister, Phyllis (Charlie) Uttley of Glasford.
Lloyd attended McArthur Drive Baptist Church in North Pekin.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He worked out of Laborer’s Local 231 in Pekin for 40 years, retiring in 1991.
Lloyd loved to work on automobiles and visit with his family.
His funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 6 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin where military rites will be accorded by the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
