Linda Mae Weeks

She was born November 13, 1946, in Dobra, West Virginia to Albert and Pauline Martin (Schultz). She married Robert “Bob” Weeks Sr. on January 8, 1966. He died March 26, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dennis Martin and James Kenneth “Kenny” Martin.

Surviving are her five children, Robert “Bobby” Weeks, Jr. of Peoria, Illinois, Stacey Burris of Metamora, Joshua Weeks, of East Peoria, Jeffrey Weeks and Wesley Weeks both of Brimfield; two grandchildren, Madison Burris and Jackson Burris, both of Metamora; three siblings, Teddy “Pete” Martin of Fairdealing, Missouri, Loretta Miller of Lorain, Ohio and Kathy Davis of Bartonville, Illinois.

Linda first worked for Aetna Loan Company and became the Head Bookkeeper. She then worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years before retiring in 1999. After retiring, she watched her grandchildren, Madison and Jackson, until they began pre-school.

Linda was a very loving, generous and devoted mother. She loved to read, sing, listen to music and above all else she loved to laugh. She also enjoyed dancing, playing Farkle and card games, shopping and watching her hummingbirds.

A private graveside service will be held at Roberts Cemetery in Morton. Chaplain Scot Shelburne will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date.
