Born January 27, 1929 in Sinuiju, Pyeong-an Buk-do, Korea to Young Bok Lee and Rae In Kim, he married Myong Kyu Choi on November 1960. She died May 6, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one younger sister and two brothers, Jung Yun Lee and Jung Pil Lee.
Surviving are one son, Woo C. (Michelle) Lee of Massachusetts, and one daughter, Morgan M. (Shawn) Casey of Chicago; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Grace, James, Luke and Derek; two brothers, Jung Hae (Hye Kyoung Yoon) Lee of Peoria and Jung Hoon Lee of Korea and many nieces and nephews.
Jung is a veteran of the Korean Air Force and served with distinction as the F-51 crew chief to Col Dean E. Hess of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War in 1950.
He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 20 years, retiring in 1991 after working as a welder in the East Peoria manufacturing plants and later as a logistics specialist in the Peoria office.
He was known for his gardening and enjoyed ballroom dancing with his wife.
He attended Crossroads Methodist Church in Washington.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
