Born March 30, 1951 in Durand, Michigan to Richard and Patsy Robinson, he married Diane Weber Baker on August 31, 2002 at Thomas Chapel, Missouri.
Surviving is his wife, Diane Robinson of Creve Coeur; four sons, John Richard (Danyel) Robinson II of Michigan, Jeremy Robinson of Michigan, Paul Baker of Pekin and Michael (Erin) Baker of Wyoming; ten grandchildren, John, Kadense, Jaden, Brandon, Rebecca, Sienna, Landon, Boston, Emily (Anthony) Moody and Paige (Alex) Bishop; one great-grandchild, Harrison Moody; four sisters, Robin, Holly, Kitty and Kelly; one sister-in-law, Kathy Robinson; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Krickett.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Lesa Montroy, Susan Johnson, Beth Bignell and David Robinson.
Rick worked for all his life on HVAC, most recently with URS at Caterpillar, Inc. retiring in 2011.
He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and trapping. He also enjoyed tending to his vegetable gardening and canning the produce he grew. He also had a love for bluegrass music and played several instruments including the dulcimer.
Rick also enjoyed time spending time at the family farms in Missouri, working outdoors and tending to mules and donkeys. One of his greatest joys in his life were his grandchildren, he loved spending time with them and teaching them important life skills, like driving and fishing.
His funeral will be at 7 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Dan Robinson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
