Born June 6, 1985 to Don and Sue (Jenkins) Smith, he married Heydi Thomas on February 4, 2019. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Sue Watkins of Pine River, Minnesota; four children, Travis Smith (Hope Millsap) of Pontiac, Lucy Smith, Mayzie Thomas and Amora Blanco, all of Manito; three step-children, Gavin Faichney and Blayden Neeley both of Pekin and Malachi Petrov of Morton; five siblings, Jason Parkhouse of Pekin, DJ Parkhouse of Peoria, Josh Parkhouse of Gilbert, Arizona, Roger Smith of Pine River, Minnesota and Tod Smith of Bloomington; one step-sibling, Wade Watkins of Pekin; one uncle, Charles Watkins of Minnesota; his mother-in-law, Jolene Thomas of Manito; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, his step-father, grandparents, two aunts, and one uncle.
Jacob had worked at FLSmidth Inc. for four years as a welder.
A family man, Jacob enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and motorcycles. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Steelers. His family has fond memories of him playing video games with his brothers.
A gathering celebrating Jacob’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2024 at Valley Chapel Church in Green Valley. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
