Ida May Tisdale

Born June 6, 1950 in Pekin to Vernis “Bing” and Shirley (Meinders) Hilst, she married Darrell Kinney in 1968 and later wed Mike Bush in 1971. She then married Henry Oliver Tisdale on January, 26 1974 in Pekin. He died June 29, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth (David) Myers II of Texas and Stacy Lynn (Jamie) West of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three sons, Guy Tisdale, David Tisdale and Samuel Tisdale, all of Pekin; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

For many years Ida May was an over-the-road truck driver with her husband, Henry. She also worked at Days Express for ten years, then CRST in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, later for U.S. Express in Tunnel Hill, Georgia and finally for Hoosier Air in Columbus, Indiana before retiring.

Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. They were all she ever wanted in life.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
