Harold D. Stone, 83, of rural Glasford, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his residence. He was born on November 27, 1932 in Winslow, Indiana to William and Cloretta (Boger) Stone. He married Loretta J. Robling on August 18, 1951 in Glezen, Indiana. She preceded him in death on May 30, 2006 in Peoria, Illinois. He was also preceded by several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by five children, Paula (Alan) Callahan of Pekin, Harold Douglas Stone of Canton, Cheryl (Harry) Stewart of Beardstown, Randy (Amanda) Stone of Glasford and Lori (Jesse Taylor) Foust of Canton; 12 grandchildren, Ryan, Tara, Cory, Jennifer, Jessica, Josh, Diego, Zachary, Jordan, Aubrey, Keith and Rosalie; 14 great grandchildren, Anthony, Dylan, Ryan Jr., Hunter, Hailey, Marshal, Royal, Clohe, Sakota, Nickel, Teisha, Gavin, Jocelyn and Luke. He has one sister surviving, Eulah Hawkins of Petersburg, Indiana. Also survived by one nephew\brother, Willie Shafer of Hanna City.
Harold worked for the Peoria Ice Company several years, later at Caterpillar Inc. as a machine repairman and was an automobile mechanic at several Peoria area garages. He was a Korean Conflict Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 35 in Glasford, Illinois.
Visitation will be Friday, August 12, 2016 from 5 PM until 7 PM at the Davison Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home in Pekin. The Rev. Carl Denham will officiate. Burial will be in the Smithville Cemetery in Smithville, Illinois.
