Born July 15, 1955 in Peoria to Ernest A. and Jeanne M. (Marcille) Timberlake, he married Linda M. Gomer on July 7, 1979 in East Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Creve Coeur; one son, Bryan D. Timberlake of Creve Coeur; one daughter, Connie J. Timberlake of Creve Coeur; four grandchildren, Cara Timberlake, Danielle Timberlake and Ethan Timberlake, all of Creve Coeur and Cayson Ables-Timberlake of Pekin; one sister, Marianne (Mike) Moll of Morton and his life-long pet, Lady.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Greg retired January 1, 2010 from Caterpillar, Inc. in Mossville as a machinist after 37 years of service.
He was a current member of the National Rifle Association.
A loving and supporting husband, father, grandfather and son, Greg loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Greg was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed bowling and cooking. He coached t-ball, little league and basketball for Floyd Castleman in Creve Coeur for many years and was an avid Cubs fan.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Frances Kenon will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Inurnment will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
