Gregory Michael Gibson Jr.

Born April 16, 1981 in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of Gregory Michael and Alison Jean (Kemp) Gibson, Sr.

Surviving are his mother of Topeka; his father of Pekin; one brother, Paul Gibson of Pekin; one sister, Amanda (Larry) Weast of Pekin; his paternal grandmother, Carrie Lightbody of Pekin; his maternal grandmother, Juanita (Harold) Gibson of Pekin; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves his best friend, Tye Dickerson and his father, Mike Dickerson, with whom he made his home.

He was preceded in death by his twin sisters, Elizabeth Anne Kemp and Julia Diane Kemp.

Gregory was an avid reader that devoured books and was always on a quest for knowledge. He loved anything to do with space, camping and music. He also enjoyed wood carving and lately had been making walking sticks. Most important, though, he was always willing to help others.

A memorial visitation celebrating his life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. No funeral services will be held. Cremation has been accorded.
