Born June 22, 1952 in Pekin to Floyd Hartford and Ada (Zeech) Keyes Sr., he married Joy Gardner on September 27, 1991. She survives.
Surviving are two sons, Floyd (Dallas) Keyes III of Pekin, Joel (Brandi Warmberg) Keyes of Manito; one daughter, Sarah Keyes of Pekin; seven grandchildren, Madison, Kristin, Joel, Sierra, Kayla, Brycen, Myah; two great grandchildren, Willow and Gracelyn; one brother, John (Pam) Keyes of Pekin; two sisters, Belynda (Ed) Nash of Midway, Joetta Wood of Pekin and stepmother, Verna Keyes of Garms.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Floyd worked at the Tazwood Center for Wellness for many years. He was a counselor for recovering alcoholic and drug addicts.
An avid fan of the Chicago Sports, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox, and Chicago Black Hawks. Floyd enjoyed classic rock and spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
He will not only be known as a loving husband, father, papa, brother, and friend but as a United States Army Veteran.
His celebration of life will be held 10 to 12 p.m. Saturday June 12, 2021 at North Parkway Assembly of God 1209 N Parkway Dr., Pekin, IL 61554. Military rites will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted with Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
