Born July 24, 1935 in Herrin to John Albert and Margaret (Poliskie) Will, she married John David McPhail on April 4, 1955 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. He died December 6, 2022 in Marquette Heights. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen Jacobs McPhail of Marquette Heights; three sons, David McPhail of Marquette Heights, Mark McPhail of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Tim (Mindy) McPhail of Bartonville; four grandchildren, Phillip Jenks of Marquette Heights, Bridget Jacobs of Creve Coeur, Ryan McPhail of Hamilton, Ohio, and Joshua McPhail; four great-grandsons, Bryson, Madden, Rylan and Shiloh John; one sister, Bonnie Will Heinking of Springfield; one brother Albert John (Audrey) Will of Lexington, Kentucky and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gary Heinking and many other loved ones she has now joined in Heaven.
A child of God, Marianne was a member of the Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur. She sang in the choir with a small group, they shared many memories together and became like family. She enjoyed making candy for Sacre Coeur’s Fall Festival and the comradery of working it with her fellowship.
A homemaker, she loved children and babysat for the School District 102 Mother’s Club and the Groveland Mothers Club for a number of years. She was also assistant president for the schools mother club, she especially enjoyed the play, shows and the walk thru Santa Claus Land in December.
Marianne was also a very successful Avon saleswoman and sold for them for over 40 years.
Her funeral will be 4 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Father James Pankiewicz will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Cremation will follow the service.
