Born October 29, 1929 in Peoria Heights to Fred and Emma (Young) Samuelson, she married Charles William Sandrock on February 27, 1949 in North Pekin. He died January 16, 2010. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Patricia Reeder.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan (Mark) Skinner of Pekin and Kay (Kevin) Goodman, both of Pekin; four grandchildren, Diane (Tim) Finn of Morton, Brent (Ellie) Skinner of Washington, Bethany (Sean) Murphy of Denver, Colorado and Kyle (Alyssa) Goodman of Morton; seven great-grandchildren and two sisters, Veda (Len) Marshall of Morton and Sylvia (David) Heidemann of Pekin.
A homemaker, Clara was devoted to spending time with family. She loved playing the piano. She also enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years and shopping.
She was a member of First Missionary Church in North Pekin, where she enjoyed providing floral arrangements for the church sanctuary.
Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor David Heidemann, her brother-in-law, will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
