PEKIN ~ Carrie Lenora Best, 83, of Pekin, passed away at 1:52 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin. She was a former longtime resident of John Evans Supportive Living in Pekin.
Born May 5, 1939 in Floral, Arkansas to William and Lenor (Carter) Warren, she married Floyd Leon Best on June 30, 1960 in Batesville, Arkansas. He died March 11, 2003 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Alice Robbins and Velma Brock and two brothers, Bob Warren and Noble Warren.
Surviving are one daughter, Renna (John) Hadsall of Pekin and one son, Robert “Rob” (Deborah) Best of Pekin and several nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Carrie also had worked as an Avon lady for many years.
Carrie enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling and shopping. She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and an avid letter and card writer. Carrie also enjoyed playing pinochle.
She was a Christian.
Her visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Chaplain Carolyn Roper-Fowlkes will officiate.
