Carol Kay Harris

She was born July 23, 1945 in Rockford, IL to James E. and Mildred G. (Layng) Dean.

Surviving are her three children, Deanna DeTar and Mary Riviere, both of Pekin and Kenneth Flint of Alabama; six grandchildren, Daniel Tisdale, Joshua (Jackie) Tisdale, Mathew (Amanda) Tisdale, Nathanial Flint, Emilie Flint and Hunter Riviere; 11 great-grandchildren Trevor Tisdale, Jareth Long, Aidan Tisdale, Mila Tisdale, Lena Tisdale, Rylan Tisdale, Raidan Tisdale, Landon Tisdale, Arya Tisdale, Talia Tisdale and Kirra Long.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Kendy Flint.

Carol had worked as a waitress and cashier at Walmart and Kroger. She had also worked as an assistant counselor last working at Hopedale, retiring in 2004.

She loved to spend time with her friends, sew, crochet and watch Westerns.

Her memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Stephen Greer will officiate. There will be no visitation.
