While his formative years were in Allentown, PA, he’d been overheard to say he may not have been born in Texas, but he got here as quickly as he could.
Vincent can never be replaced, however, for those who didn’t know him as well, let us give you a partial recipe for the making of this man.
Use base stock of Naturalized Texan
Add a deep love of fishing
Slowly fold in the following:
A generous helping of Christmas love
A dash of raucous laughter
A splash of fine spirits
Let that rise before topping with:
A love of gaming
A yen for travelling
A talent and eye for woodworking
A genuine love of people
Make sure your grill is set to heavy smoke with a proprietary blend of fruit and hardwoods at a low temperature and let it soak in all that goodness for 52 years. ‘Low and slow’ is exactly how he did his smoking.
He is survived by: his parents, Barbara and David J Hendricks, and grandmother, Alice Zwarycz, who still reside and lovingly call Allentown home; his partners Chelsea Hendricks and Amy Milberger; his daughter, Elizabeth (Elle) Rodriguez, her husband, Ernesto Rodriguez, and their son Oliver; his stepdaughter, Shara Berlin, son-in-law, Christian Berlin, and their son, Ren; as well as his stepson, Greyson Pace, and his wife, Andrea; along with a seemingly endless Family of Choice, which included many he called sisters and brothers.
Vincent desired to make the world a better place. To that aim, it was his wish that he help repopulate the coral reefs of the world. The reef ball casting will be held on Friday, 9/22/23 at 11:30 am at the Eternal Reefs Galveston location (please contact family for the address) with the completed reef ball viewing on Sunday, 9/24/23 at the same location. Final placement at sea and dedication of the reef will be on Monday, 9/25/23 (with the alternate date of 9/26/23 set in case of inclement weather on 9/25). Reservations are required for Monday's dedication. A Celebration of Life - A Remembrance of Vince's ministry and hospitality through lovingly prepared food will be held at a private location on Saturday, 9/23/23. Friends and family are invited to contact the family for details for this gathering.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that people donate to Yellowstone National Park, where Vincent had a summer internship before his senior year of college: https://forever.yellowstone.org/give/176506/
For those who prefer a more physical expression, we invite them to contribute to an individual or grove of trees in Vincent’s name here: https://www.treesforachange.com/collections/memorial-trees-sympathy-gifts
This organization will send photos and coordinates of trees planted in his name to his survivors. We welcome you to have any notifications sent to santasgirls22@gmail.com so that his loved ones can plot them on a map for him.
