He was born in Edmond, OK on July 18, 1948, to Raygon and Marjorie Risdon. He graduated from Edmond High School in 1966. He enlisted in the Navy in 1967 as a gunner's mate. He fought in Vietnam as a Riverine also known as the Brownwater Navy. He met his wife, Kay Risdon, in Oklahoma City after being discharged from the Navy. They had their first child Megan Risdon in 1983.
Ron had his own company called Exterior Surface Inspection where he remodeled homes where he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. During those years you could find him doing yard work or by the pool with a beer. He loved getting family and friends together to watch OU football and put something on the grill.
He later found a passion for riding motorcycles and rode his Harley every chance he got. He joined the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Club and loved the comradery he found in them. He was a past Commander at the VFW 7109 where he made many improvements to the building. He took pride in being a veteran and being able to speak to high schools about the importance of serving your country.
As his life slowed down he enjoyed having his grandchildren around as much as possible, keeping up with the news, and eating good food.
He is survived by his wife Kay Risdon and daughter Megan Risdon of Pearland, TX. His grandchildren are Mia Cuellar, Christian Cuellar, and Ella Debrow. His sister Marjorie McBroom and her husband Don McBroom of Oklahoma City, OK, and brother Danny Risdon and his wife Kim Risdon of Sugarland, TX. As well as many nieces and nephews.
