Mary Gold Casiño Alfafara

Mary Gold Casiño Alfafara, 75 years old, peacefully passed away on June 3, 2023 surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with health complications resulting from a hip surgery.

Mary Gold was born on November 1, 1947 to Manolo and Rosalinda Casiño in the city of Calapan, Mindoro, Philippines. On January 22, 1977, Mary Gold married Ernesto Tabar Alfafara, whom she shared 46 wonderful years of marriage.

She graduated from The Southern Islands Hospital School in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. After graduation, she devoted her career to caring and serving others as a Registered Nurse before retiring at St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston, Texas in 2014. While retired, Mary Gold spent her time to pursue her love of baking, crocheting, playing piano and spending moments with her precious grandchildren.

Mary Gold was predeceased by her parents, Manolo and Rosalinda Casiño, her sister Rose Marie Jumawan and her brother Michael Casiño. She is survived by her siblings, Maria Victoria Eviota, Manolo Casiño, Jr., and Marie Lou Vilayphanh, her husband, Ernesto Alfafara, children, Donna Gail (Joel) Rodriguez, Dinah Alfafara and Denise (Melquisedec) Reyes and grandchildren, Payne and Payton Rodriguez, Caitlyn and Napoleon Roberts, London Lewis and Eli Reyes.

Viewing will be held at Forest Park South Funeral Home, 12650 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland, TX 77584 on Friday, June 16th from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Floral deliveries will be accepted beginning 9 a.m. this day.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, 9009 Sienna Ranch Road, Missouri City, TX, 77459 on Saturday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be served onsite immediately following the service. (Please note floral deliveries will not be accepted at the church)
