
Janice attended Houston Technical Institute before pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology at the University of Houston. After graduating, she embarked on a successful career in the oil and gas industry, where her coworkers admired her for her reliability and diligence. Her most recent position was at Enbridge, where she had planned to retire.
On the dance floor, Janice met the love of her life, Alan McDonald. They dated for three years and exchanged vows on June 13, 1981. The couple was blessed with two children: their firstborn, Ashley Simone, on July 6, 1987, and a son, Kyle Alan, on September 13, 1992. Janice and Alan cherished their family vacations and dedicated themselves to ensuring Ashley and Kyle thrived in life.
Beyond her professional and familial roles, Janice was an avid baker, expressing her love for others through her delicious creations. Her baked goods were adored by all, and people eagerly awaited the special treats she would lovingly share. Janice was a devout Christian, and she instilled these values within her family. She began attending Bible Way Church and later joined Greater St. Matthew Baptist Church until 2007. She then became a member of Fort Bend Church, where she faithfully served as part of the welcoming committee.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents (Roy and Mattie Gamble), sister (Sarah Louise Lang), and brother (Jimmy Gamble). She is survived by her loving husband, Alan, her two children, Ashley McDonald and Kyle McDonald (Jasmine), and the youngest member of the family, Granny’s Baby, Kaden Ålan McDonald. She also leaves behind her brothers, Roy Edward Gamble (Sharlyn) and Casanova Gamble (Arlene), as well as her sister, Stella Marie Kinney (Herbert). Sisters in-law Pamela Strother (Edward) and Rhonda McDonald. Additionally, Janice is mourned by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish her memory.
A visitation for Janice will be held Friday, June 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at External Service Location, 1900 Eldridge Rd, Sugar Land, TX 77478. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 1900 Eldridge Rd, Sugar Land, TX 77478. A committal service will occur Friday, June 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Houston Memorial Gardens, 2426 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581.
