Tom was born on November 22, 1945 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS to Vernor and Zula Houston.
He had three brothers, Pat, Jerry, and Doyle, who have preceded him in death. Tom was a high school graduate, and later attended Phillips College where he earned his Associates Degree. Tom was a Marine, which he was very proud of, and served his country in Vietnam. He married his wife, Isabel, on February 14, 2006. He spent most of his working life as a parts/sales manager for Heavy Equipment companies.
Tom enjoyed life, and simple pleasures. He loved to read, watch movies, eat good food, and tell stories.
He watched way too many infomercials and would buy anything labeled 'As Seen on TV', but his wife humored him because he was so loveable.
Tom was a talented writer, and had a published novel. He also had a beautiful singing voice and liked to write songs. He loved to laugh, and was known to pull a prank whenever he had the opportunity.
He was a much loved husband, father, and 'Poppa', and he is survived by his wife, Isabel; his children, Heath Houston; Jennifer Thomas; Connie Tuli; and Barry Houston, and his grandchildren, Nick Price; Alex Winstead; Houston Thomas; Catherine Thomas; Nathan Tuli; Nissa Prukop; Alisha Washburn; Krishan Tuli; Kamran Tuli; Peyton Houston; Jordan Houston; Miriam Houston; Jonathan Kilcrease; and Gerald Robert Kilcrease.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Brandon. Funeral services are 11:00am, Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the church with interment to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
