Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. A memorial service will follow at 11:00am.
She was born on December 6, 1951 to the late Virlon Wilcher Weems and Ruby Lang Weems in Jackson, Mississippi. She worked as a truck driver for several years until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed line dancing and working on antique vehicles, such as her '75 Chevrolet pickup truck. Mrs. Peggy also loved her family; her favorite times were spent with them at family gatherings and during the holidays. She would always prepare delicious meals, and her family looked forward to savoring her signature macaroni and cheese and baked dinner rolls. She also cherished her grandchildren, valuing quality time with them. Anything they could do together, such as something as simple as just playing outside in the yard, she treasured.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joey Payne and brothers, Ronnie Weems, Nicholas Weems, Douglas Weems, and Allan Weems.
She is survived by her son, Scott Weems (Sarah); grandchildren, Brea Weems, Logan Weems, and Josie Weems; and a number of beloved extended family members.
Mrs. Peggy will be deeply missed by all.
