Pat was born in Columbus, GA September 25, 1938 and graduated from High School in Tipton, GA. In 1961 she graduated from the School of Nursing at the Medical Center in Columbus, GA.
Through the years Pat worked at St. Dominic and Baptist Hospitals in Jackson, MS and was a Charter Employee of River Oaks Hospital where she retired in 2004 after 22 years of service. She started quilting as a hobby in 1998 and was a member of Brandon and Jackson Quilters.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, C. B. Screws and Mildred Denson Screws, her husband of 42 years, James Kenneth Toland and her much beloved only son, Kenneth Bernard Toland.
Pat was a lover of animals and in recent years rescued a little three-legged Chihuahua appropriately named Lucky. Many thanks go out to her friends in the Crossgates community who cared for Lucky during Pat’s final days and adopted him after her death.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, November 22, 2013 at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Pearl.
In lieu of flowers, Pat requested donations be made to Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center, Ridgeland, MS, 39157.
