Funeral services are 11:00 am Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Flowood Baptist Church with interment in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 9:00 am-11:00 am prior to services at the church.
Mr. Sistrunk was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired in 1997 from the Mississippi Highway Patrol. He was an active member of Flowood Baptist Church, and participated in many of the Men’s Mission trips.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mae Freeman Sistrunk of Pearl; daughter, Jenifer Lyn Bailey and husband Mark of Madison; grandchildren, Auston Douglas Bailey and Olivia Grace Bailey both of Madison; niece, Brenda Sistrunk Byington and husband Don of Clinton; sisters-in-law, Henrietta Sistrunk of Jackson, Austine Cliburn and husband Fred of Brandon, Lois Killen, Kate Thomas and Janis Watts all of Union and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richmond Lewis Sistrunk and Ozora Hicks Sistrunk; and brother, Rupert Sistrunk.
Memorials may be made to the Flowood Baptist Church Building Fund, 1649 Old Fannin Rd, Flowood, MS 39232.
