She was born on December 21, 1923 to the late Jesse N. Poston and Fannie B. Barrett Poston in Millington, TN. Lois worked for Phillips Brace Company, Mississippi Artificial Limb, and Jackson Brace & Limb Company which she retired from in 1999. She was a faithful member of Van Winkle United Methodist Church in Jackson for over 50 years. A crafty lady, Lois was talented at crocheting, often making beautiful afghans, and she loved to cross stitch as well. Her down time was also spent reading or travelling. Friends and family were close to her heart, and her favorite thing to do was visit with them.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas White; son, Richard Nathan Perkins; and brothers, John Poston and Paul Poston.
Lois is survived by her stepchildren, Dena Burleson (Sam), Marsha Padgett (Steve), and Cecelia Taylor (Wesley); nieces, Cindy Beall (Jim) and Patsy Bowell; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other beloved extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made to Van Winkle United Methodist Church at 3810 Robinson St., Jackson, MS 39209.
