Visitation will be held from 9:00am until 11:00am, Friday, October 18, 2024, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private.
Lexie was born March 5, 1933, in Calhoun County, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Bill and Lillian Carmical. She was a graduate of Big Creek High School. She moved to Clinton, Mississippi, in 1968 from Greenville, Mississippi. She was employed at Sears for 15 years. She also worked at the hosiery mill in Grenada, Mississippi, for 2 years; Word of Life Church for 8 years; and New Life Christian Fellowship for 8 years where she was a devoted member of the church.
In addition to her parents Lexie was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Sims; sons, Danny Sims, and Ronnie Sims, who were both pastors; brothers, Bill Carmical, Franklin Carmical, and Charles Carmical; and sister, Evelyn Carmical Boyle.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Sean Sims, Pastor Joel Sims, Rev. Hope Lamberson, Erica Sims, Kimberly Burr, and Ashley Sims; and great-grandchildren, Reece, Boston, and Ben Sims, and Max, Lake, and Jagger Lamberson; and two sisters, Betty Boyle, and Judy Pope.
