Mrs. Johnie Renee Schmidt Johnson, 41, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, in Brandon, Mississippi after a long battle with cancer. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, daughter-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to everyone she met. Her smile could light up a room and her laugh could warm your heart. She loved music, singing, animals and treasured every moment with family and friends. Johnie will truly be forever missed and forever loved.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 22 years, David Johnson; daughters, Destiny Johnson Greenberg, and Heather Johnson; son, Jacob Johnson; grandson, Ezekiel Greenberg; father, John Schmidt; sisters, Sherry Hunt, and Brandy Wheatley (Brian); brothers, John Schmidt, Jr., and Dustin Schmidt; in-laws, Larry Johnson (Debbie); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Johnie was predeceased by her mother, Gayle McGrath; maternal grandparents, Bobby Nummy (Mary "Pug"); and paternal grandparents Herman Schmidt (Amanda).
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021, followed by a celebration of life lunch in the fellowship hall at Andrew Chapel Baptist Church, 605 Andrew Chapel Road, Brandon, MS 39042. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations in memory of Johnie may be made to Andrew Chapel Baptist Church.
