James Truett Maddox, Sr., 75, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Brandon Court under the care of Pax Hospice. He was born in Magee, MS on July 24, 1946 and was the husband of 46 years to Patsy Lee Harvey Maddox.
James was an Entrepreneur at heart. He always looked for new ideas and had several small businesses over the years. James was a truck driver for KLLM for 15 years. He took immense pride in his ability to deliver freight in the most dangerous weather conditions. He was the go to person when the job needed to be delivered. His moto was “If you are going to drive the truck then drive it, don’t let it drive you!”
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Holiday gatherings with plenty of food and sweets was his most favorite.
James is survived by his wife, Patsy; Sisters, Peggy Sims and Phyllis Conrad (Gerald); Children, Treena Young (Bob), James Maddox Jr. (Lucia), Andrea Johnson (David), Frank Jordan (Tracy), Stephanie Renfroe (Sonny); Grandchildren, Savanna and Jacob Young, Shun and Duwanda Lowery, Brandi Upton and Jeremiah Johnson, Tiffany and Thomas Jordan, Kalai Key and Alyssa Coker; and 18 Great grand Children along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Curnel B Maddox and Willie Dean Runnels Maddox, and his brother David Maddox.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, MS.
