Often one struggles to find the correct words to describe a life lived. With Jacob’s life it’s not a struggle. His was a life of joy, respect, resilience, and love. Jacob’s personality was innately congenial and sociable, easily endearing him to many. His witty and often silly humor elicited smiles and lifted spirits. Lost on several of our peers today are the merits of courtesy and respect, but these were very important to Jacob, and he was conscience of the way he spoke to others. Although Jacob encountered various trials throughout his life, his resilience pushed him to persevere. Jacob lived his life to honor the values he respected, and in doing so he demonstrated a life lived for true joy and love- for oneself and for others.
Jacob was employed for the last two years by the City of Pearl. In his free time he enjoyed watching Nascar races and was a connoisseur of delightful dishes- a true “foodie”. His favorite times were spent with his beloved nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his grandmother, Sandra Walker; uncles, David H. Walker, Sonny Sellers, and Keith Sellers; aunts, Peggy Denise Boyles, and Sharon Simoneaux; great-uncle, Bobby Reddell; half-brother, David Stegall; god-mother, Betty LeBourgeois; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Jacob was preceded in death by his parents, Kenny Sellers and Celeste Sellers Williamson; grandparents, David Walker, Sr., Belva and Valmond Vicknair, and George Walker; and aunt, Marilyn Lafield.
Celebration of Life Services will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl.
