Flora Gene Floyd Van Buren Robinson, of Pearl, left her earthly home on June 19, 2024. She was born in Oklahoma on June 2, 1926. The family returned to Simpson County Mississippi where Flora grew up helping on the family farm. She attended and graduated from Martinville School where she played basketball. She married Robert Van Buren and moved to Pearl, Mississippi in 1950 where she raised her two children, Robert Charles Van Buren and Gloria Jean Van Buren. Ms. Van Buren was employed with Standard Life Insurance Company for many years until her retirement. She loved working in her yard. She was an active member of Pearl Methodist Church until her health began to fail.
Flora was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Durwood Floyd and Durie Lucille Maddox Floyd, brother Roy Thomas Floyd, husbands Robert Van Buren, LS “Butch” Robinson, daughter Gloria Jean Van Buren.
She is survived by her son, Robert Charles Van Buren (Dianna) and granddaughter, Catherine Van Buren. She leaves nieces, nephews and cousins along with neighbors and friends to miss her sweet smile and friendship.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the funeral home.
